Janet Lyness was the Assistant County Attorney in Johnson County When Eric Shaw was Killed by a Cop

Do-Nothing Democrats Dave Loebsack and Janet Lyness

The Iowa City Press-Citizen hasn't mentioned Eric Shaw's name in any articles after the George Floyd killing in Minneapolis.

You'd think in a town where a cop (Jeffrey Gillespie) shot and killed a sculptor (Eric Shaw) whose crime was propping his door open on a warm summer evening and talking on the phone, and the cop getting away with it, that the local media would be weaving that story into the memory of modern-day locals.

Gannett's Hilly Ojeda is aware of the 1996 shooting of Shaw, even if she misspelled Gillespie's name (archive link) in a story in January 2020 concerning "racial profiling review board" in University Heights.

There's racial profiling in University Heights?  That speed trap?  It is run by Democrats, whose entire party was founded and sustained on racism:  slavery, Jim Crow, and Separate But Equal, and now is obsessed with bullshit like "white privilege" and "systemic racism".

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Even if the corporate monopoly media in Iowa want to ignore the shooting of Eric Shaw in 1996, we will not forget it.  The entire thing was a disgrace.  The cop didn't get charged.  The county attorney at the time, Democrat J. Patrick White, refused to press any charges against Officer Jeffrey Gillespie, or even convene a grand jury.  The Press-Citizen, at the time, regularly ran op-eds, editorials, and letters trashing Shaw's parents, Jay and Blossom, who were seeking justice for their murdered son.  White ran for re-election in 1998, was unopposed, and received 97% of the vote.  So it seems not that long ago that Johnson County voters, particularly Democrats were OK with a cop getting away with killing a totally innocent person.

And who was the Assistant County Attorney in Johnson County when Eric Shaw was killed?

None other than Janet Lyness.

And Janet Lyness was J. Patrick White's hand-picked successor.

Mohamedali in the middle

It seems rather insane that Janet Lyness was on the same stage as Mazin Mohamedali, the so-called leader of the "Freedom Riders".  Mohamedali was charged in 2018 with First Degree Robbery, a felony, and plead guilty to Second Degree Robbery, also a felony.  He has drug convictions.  He has had numerous warrants served on him.  He likely has a juvenile arrest record.  And he's been charged with numerous offenses during the "protests" in Iowa City.

One of his list of "demands" that Mayor Bruce Teague, City Manager Geoffrey Fruin, and the entire City Council of Iowa City are studying is the dropping of all charges related to Mohamedali's destruction and rioting.  These libtards are actually listening to this criminal.

Smile for your mug shot, Mazin
Then you have the Hamad sisters, Lujayn and Raneem, who originally organized the initial "protests".  They were involved in 2016 with a "hate note" scam that was obviously a hoax but all the local Democrats played along to make anti-Trump and anti-Republican political hay.

What, exactly, is going on in Johnson County?

When you have endless "protests" about something that happened elsewhere, that we all agree was a terrible incident, and you don't bother to reference in the media or the protests an incident that happened in your town that involved the present day Democrat County Attorney, that seems a little suspicious.

We haven't quite figured it out.  There seems to be a lot of issues at play here:

  • George Floyd sparked the protests
  • The "protests" became destructive with the approval of Mayor Bruce Teague, City Manager Geoffrey Fruin, the ICPD, the Johnson County Sheriff, and the Iowa State Patrol.
  • Then it was about tagging everything with spray paint.
  • Then it became "hate all cops"
  • Then it morphed into "defund the police"
  • Then it was a Vietnam Vet's fault.
  • Then it was the hospital's fault.
  • Then a statue of Nile Kinnick was to blame.
  • Now it's people driving down Riverside Drive and 1st Ave in Coralville who must be inconvenienced.  (archive link)
Maybe it's burning itself out.  The Daily Iowan article said it's down to 200 "protesters".

Alinsky 7:  A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.

It seems to be mostly self-loathing white Democrat morons now:

It's turned into Black Criminals Matter.

How long before Janet Lyness dismisses the recent charges against Mazin Mohamedali?  It'll be kind of like how her old boss, Patrick White, refused to convene a grand jury against cop Jeffrey Gillespie.

No Justice:  that's the Democrat way.

Janet Lyness knows what "justice" is all about.  It's all about protecting her racist Democrat friends.

I'm sure we'll hear from Mazin Mohamedali in the future.  How long before that criminal asshole does something really stupid and has to go to prison?
